Cathy Erdmann loves the squishiness of clay and making things with her hands. However, this was not always the case. She quickly dropped her first sculpture class in college when the instructor told everyone to reach into a slimy vat of previously used clay. At that point she decided clay was not for her. Years later when introduced to sculpture a second time she rediscovered the joy she had experienced as a child making mud pies. Currently, Cathy is most drawn to figurative sculpture and interpreting human emotion through ceramics.
